In 1976, Steven Jay Dell and Dennis Schaefer met for the first time at the Broward County Courthouse. Both Steven & Dennis arrived at the courthouse for their first day of work as Broward County Assistant State Attorneys. While working as Assistant State Attorneys, they had the opportunity to serve their community and develop outstanding courtroom and jury trial skills. Between 1976 and 1978, Mr. Dell and Mr. Schaefer were lead trial attorneys in more than 100 jury trials and represented the state of Florida in more than 2,000 courtroom hearings and motions.

In 1978, Steven Jay Dell was hired by a small two-lawyer firm and started practicing civil litigation and personal injury law. In 1979, Mr. Dell became a Partner with the law firm that had recently hired him. That same year, Mr. Schaefer left the State Attorneys office and began practicing law with Mr. Dell.

Since 1979, Mr. Dell and Mr. Schaefer have limited their practice to suing insurance companies.
